Monday evenings 7:00 pm, we gather for Meditation practice. We sit for 1/2 hour, followed by a guided meditation from the Lam Rim tradition for 1/2 hour. Meditations are led by Machig Labdron students.

Overview
This is a meditation retreat based on the Four Foundations of
Mindfulness, combining Theravada Vipassana meditation with Mahayana
Vipassana (Tibetan tradition) of Basic Mahamudra. The daily schedule
consists of alternating sitting and walking meditations within an
environment of silence and constant mindfulness.

Losang Monlam has been a student of Buddhism for over 20 years. With a journey touching upon many of the Buddhist traditions, about 15 years ago he became a student of Lama Zopa Rinpoche within the Tibetan Gelug lineage. A student of Tibetan and Western masters, he engaged in advance study program under the guidance of Ven. Geshe Ngawang Dakpa. Monlam helped developed the spiritual program at Tse Chen Ling Center for over 6 years, including special outreach programs such as the Women of Wisdom series. In 1998 he founded the Tsa Tsa Studio furthering our understanding of Buddhism through sacred art. Monlam has been teaching in the San Francisco Bay Area and within California prisons for over seven years. He also served as Geshe Ngawang Dakpa’s attendant for the last three years. Monlam is the Spiritual Advisor for Machig Labdron study group. |
